What is what is a C license?
A class C licence is a commercial driving licence (CDL). This licence allows drivers to operate vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 26,000 pounds. This includes passenger vehicles like vans, buses and trucks. It also permits drivers to operate vehicles that are used to transport hazardous materials as long as they are properly approved.
It is a complex procedure to get the class C license. You must first determine the requirements of your state, after which you must take a variety of tests and courses before taking the driving test. A class C license opens up many possibilities for career advancement including delivery drivers, driving instructor and part-time or full-time trucking.
You must pass the test in writing before you can get the Class C license. To prepare for the exam it is recommended that you study the MTO Truck Handbook. The handbook outlines the specific rules and driving skills truck drivers must be aware of. You can purchase the handbook online, at a DriveTest and ServiceOntario centre, or at most book stores.
After passing the written test, you can then take the driving test. You may have to pass a variety of driving tests, depending on what type of vehicle you plan to drive. The MTO website provides a complete list of all tests available.
After you have passed the driving test and passed the test, you will be issued with the class C licence. You will then be eligible to drive the car that corresponds with your licence. You can add additional categories to your license by applying for them and passing the appropriate tests.
You must be 18 years old age to drive in your province, territory or state. If you are driving interstate, you will have to be 21 years old. You must also show proof of your age, identity and residence to qualify for the copyright. What are the requirements for a C license?

A commercial license of class C (CDL), allows you to drive a vehicle with a gross vehicle rating of more than 26 000 pounds or any combination of vehicles which don't meet the requirements for Class A or ClassB, including vehicles that transport passengers as well as freight. If you intend to operate vehicles that carry dangerous materials or transporting double or triple trailers, you will require the appropriate endorsements.
To apply for a C license, you'll need to provide proof of your identity and age, and a copy of your chauffeur or operator's licence If applicable. You must also pay an application fee.
How do I apply for a C license?
The process of applying for C license is similar to the process of obtaining a regular driver's licence. You must pass a written test and an examination on the road. Learn more about the MTO truck handbook by reading it. It is available online, in DriveTest and ServiceOntario centers, and at many retail stores.
You can also download the application form on the website of the MVTO and bring it with you to your medical examination. After you pass the knowledge and skill tests, you will need to take a medical exam at an approved location.
A commercial copyright allows you to use the same vehicles drivers with a regular copyright are able to drive, but also things that you are not allowed to drive on a regular license, such as loads for hire and HazMat. How do I get my C license?
To obtain a C license you must be at least 18 and have passed a medical exam for drivers. You also need to possess a valid car license (category B) and pass the C license test. The test can be completed online or in a driving school. It is recommended to study and practice driving with a buddy before the test. After passing the test, you will receive a certificate and a driving licence.
If you're under the age of 18, you can still apply for a C+E licence however you must have your parent or legal guardian sign a waiver stating that they consent to letting you operate large goods vehicles. Before applying for a C+E licence you must first be able to pass the C driving test and have an auto copyright (category B). Then you can start training with HGV driver training firms to acquire the necessary skills to operate an artic lorry. These courses are usually 5-7 days long and cover the fundamentals of driving an articulated vehicle. Additionally, you will learn about safety and health as well as driving laws and how to prepare your truck for the road.
After you've completed your training then you must undergo a medical examination before you can apply for a C+E license. This will confirm that you are fit to operate an articulated lorry, and that you don't suffer from any conditions which might affect your abilities.
